The unique array of eight electromagnets in the CGCI system provides the physician with extremely accurate, reproducible and safe means of remotely navigating catheters in the highly dynamic environment of the human heart. Future directions of the Company include an application of the Magnetecs technology for use in diagnostics and treatment of the gastro-intestinal (GI) tract. In this major market, Magnetecs has entered a collaborative relationship with the market leader to develop a Magnetically Guided Capsule Endoscope (MGCE). This product is designed to enable viewing of the entire GI tract in a single, safe, short and non-invasive procedure replacing a series of invasive and uncomfortable procedures performed today. The proposed magnetic system for GI is expected to provide physicians with a more comprehensive view of the GI tract, shorten the procedure time, and greatly increase patient compliance in GI endoscopy. Additional applications include neurology and gynecology.
